Featuring a 10K, 5K, 1.5 mile walk & the Fun4kids event, GTD also offers a virtual option for individuals who cannot attend in-person.
The forerunner of today’s Memorial Day event, The Amy Thompson Run for Brain Injury, began in 1987 with a few hundred participants. Over time, this run which spotlights traumatic brain injury, has grown to include more than a thousand runners each year and funds programs and services for those affected by brain injury.
This year the 37th Memorial Day Run will focus attention on teams that honor or memorialize someone who’s had a brain injury. Please contact Bev Jacobson, bjacobson@biaks.org to provide us with information about your team and the individual being honored or memorialized. Whether it’s making a donation, sponsoring a team or running the 10K, 5K or Walk for Thought, your involvement makes a difference. Click on the links below to get started.

HOW TO CREATE A TEAM
Once you begin the registration process, you have the option to create or join a race team – your team might be a group of friends, colleagues, family members, etc. As a team, you will also have the opportunity to raise funds in support of Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City. Teams are not required, but they’re a great way to make race day even more fun! You can either register all of your team members at once, or invite them to register themselves once you’ve created your team registration.
To create a new team, select “Create New” from the drop down menu, and enter your team name. Select your team from the list and then complete your registration to be added to the team roster.
Packet pick-up will be Sat. May 25, 10 am-4 pm, Location TBD, or on race day, beginning at 6:30 am.
